Bryan Chavis, founder of The Landlord Academy in Tampa ( MBR, November 2005 emy ), had a
good week recently. While signing a three-book deal with Vigliano Associates in New York, he
closed on an equity partnership for his company with Harry Hedaya, president and founder of
The Loan Corporation (www.tlcfl.com) in Tampa, whose firm has been ranked as the number-one producing mortgage brokerage in Florida by Broker Magazine. Hedaya now owns 50
percent of the academy (www.landlording101.com), which has added five employees. “This will take my business to the next level and enhance what I’ve created,” Chavis says.

Meanwhile, Chavis’ three-book deal with Vigliano Associates includes publication of the Landlording 101 operations manual, an investors’ operations manual and Chavis’ autobiography.

“The books are already written,” says Chavis. “This agency looks at a thousand manuscripts in a week and in a good week selects two of them. And, yet, they took all three of mine.”
